It is very difficult to keep the mind focused on one thing. This is the nature of mind and it makes it supremely difficult to get something going mentally in a big way. We all know that concentrated light is more powerful than diffused light. This is what lasers are all about. So with the mind.A focused mind is more powerful than a diffused mind. This is something that I would like to do, find a way to focus my mind.

There is a war going on inside your brain. One waged by two parties but they both belong to you and they are fighting over control, who controls you. I am talking about your left and right brains. The left brain controls your daily smarts, the right brain is your dreamy part. Each is trying to win over the other.

The calculating left wars with the creative right brain. So who wins? If the left wins, then you get a high-paying job where you fight tooth and nail over other sharks in the corporate world and you inevitably succumb to heart attack or alcoholism or cocaine habits and all the other perks of achieving the heights in the corporate ladder. If the right brain wins then you sing your songs and write your poems and enjoy the meadow wondering if your life has not been a total waste for having taken the fork in the road that led to flowers and very little money.

How do I control my mind when it is constantly in a state of flux? When thoughts come in torrents and floods my consciousness with ideas that are not always good and uplifting. This is the problem that I face now. The thoughts that my mind are milling are negative thoughts and these thoughts color my world with gloom and darkness. It is thought that generate feelings for us and these feelings determine our outlook in life. So now I am not in a good position to do anything important. Maybe my biorhythm is off. i do not know. All I know is that things are not going well for me. Contrast that with a week ago when I was high and euphoric. Then I thought that a turning point was being reached in my life. This has certainly turned in a big but apparently not in a good way. Maybe there is something good in this but I just do not know what. I should concentrate more on the positive, to find the good in this jumble of weird negativity.

If I have learned anything at all it is that the sun always shines. No matter if it takes months to do that as in the North Pole which is shrouded in darkness even as it is blanketed by snow. I should concentrate on the positive, to accentuate the good and leave the bad in the dust.

Our minds steadily manufacture thoughts which we claim to be ours. Our ego claims responsibility for this thought machine as though the self controls it. However, could it be that the mind is merely using the self or the ego to rubber-stamp its mass-produced thoughts? When we do things which we regret later, we tend to say, "I was not thinking" or, I was not thinking clearly".  Very often we hear the lame excuse, "the devil made me do it". Does this mean that the devil is in the mind? that it is actually the one telling us to do bad things? Along this line of reasoning, angels must be responsible for us doing good things. Where is free will and taking responsibility in this situation? This seems to say that we are mere bystanders in our own lives and that our minds operate independently of us. When I began to make Ching's World there were very definite thoughts that guided me. It seemed that Ching's World was a historical necessity and would be important. The big thing was that I thought Ching's World would take off very quickly. I was in for a rude awakening.

I have been trying to get to Cagayan de Oro City since forever and success in this regard seems to elude me. I have been to Cagayan de Oro City many times in the past few years desiring to find a project there. I tried making websites for my high school class and nothing significant arose from these efforts. I would spend my time in Cagayan de Oro City waiting for people to have time to see me. It seems that I have been shunted aside and that there is no time or space for me in Cagayan de Oro City. Is this true? Or, is it just self-doubt?

Before one can talk of Mind Control, a certain capability must have to be cultivated, Concentration. Very simply, concentration means the ability to keep the mind focused on one object or idea or sound. Mantra meditaion uses sounds to keep the mind focused. The mind keeps a sound constantly in the conscious portion of the mind and should other ideas or thoughts come in and try to steal the focus, the mind must be returned to the sound. This builds awareness of the mind and what it does. Awareness creates a capability in the mind to discriminate between different types of mental activities.

A point or an image could be the object of concentration too. That is, the eyes are focused on an object or point and the mind is directed toward such point or image. This brings the mind to focus on one thing and allows it to gain strength and power.

The ancient texts liken the senses to a team of wild horses, pulling here and there, unwilling to be tamed and controlled. Thinking about it, and seeing how they work, one sees all at once how true this is. Consider the eyes, a beautiful sight or a dreadful one will keep one riveted on sight. All attention is focused on it to the exclusion of others. It is as if nothing else exists. .Such is the power of sight. This goes the same for the sense of hearing, a wail or the howling of dogs in the dead of night sends shivers down the spine of those who hear it and turns away all other sensations as the mind and body sends signals of something fearful and ghastly. Are we then victims of our senses?

It is no wonder then that the ancients sought to control the senses. The obvious methods involve pain and deprivation. Hence, the concept of sacrifice took on an important meaning. Sensual gratification became a sign of weakness and depravity. Is this true? Is the reason for having senses as simple as denying them; these very senses that bring so much enjoyment and pleasure? This is a paradox if ever I saw one.

I do not really know even after trying for so long, what the mind is. Is mind control watching your thoughts? They just seem to follow one after another in endless succession and I follow them.
